To be eligible, you must:

• Be between the ages of 18 and 64
• Satisfy the medical underwriting criteria
• Be covered by your provincial health insurance plan

Payments are made annually or monthly.

The premium is calculated according to the following information:

• Your age
• Your sex
• The type of coverage

Your contract will end on the earliest of the following dates:

• The day the principal insured turns 70
• The day the principal insured dies or
• The day the policyholder sends a written cancellation request to our head office

As your life changes, your financial protection should too!

If you decide to change your coverage type or add insureds to your policy, evidence of insurability will be required for the new insureds, but if you have family coverage, any child that will be added to the family will be accepted automatically if they are added within 30 days of their birth.

If you decide to increase your coverage by adding hospitalization, you’ll still have to provide evidence of insurability. But dental care coverage will automatically be added to your plan if it includes prescription drug coverage.

Yes, you can be reimbursed for the deductible and the coinsurance for the Public Prescription Drug Insurance Plan. You might even be reimbursed for some drugs that aren’t covered by the Public Prescription Drug Insurance Plan.

You aren’t limited to treatments from general practitioners and specialists. You can also receive treatments from alternative medicine practitioners such as massage therapists, chiropractors, physiotherapists and homeopaths.

This healthcare insurance complements the Ontario government’s plan.

• When you include prescription drug coverage in your plan, you receive a payment card to present to the pharmacist. When they ring up the bill, you’ll only have to pay the portion of the bill that isn’t covered by the plan (the reimbursement percentage is based on the plan you choose).
• If you have dental care coverage, you can also use the payment card at the dentist.
