Vice-President, Insurance Risk Division Chief Risk Officer, Life Insurance
Mario St-Hilaire is Vice-President and Chief Risk Officer for the Life Insurance division at Desjardins Financial Security. He oversees integrated risk management for the life and health insurance sector, wealth management, and the Desjardins pension plan.
Since joining Desjardins in 1995, Mario has held various roles in finance and corporate actuarial services. Since 2021, he has served as Chief Risk Officer, where he leverages his deep expertise to support the organization’s resilience and strategic direction.
Mario is also engaged in the broader insurance industry, having participated in several committees, including the Financial Reports Commission of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. He currently sits on the Chief Risk Officer Committee of the CLHIA.
He holds a bachelor's degree in actuarial science from Université Laval and the professional designations of Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA) and Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA). Mario is widely recognized for his empathetic, unifying, and results-driven leadership.
